Learn How To Read Music – Quickly and Easily

I remember my days in middle school band class. It was so exciting to have the opportunity to learn an instrument. I had the choice between 3: the trumpet, the clarinet, and the saxophone. I chose the saxophone and fell in love with it. Just like most, I started out sounding horrible. And I had to learn how to read music. In the beginning, I was slow at reading the music. I was determined to get better, so I kept at it. I eventually got better and better. The saxophone felt easier to play. The music notes made more and more sense. and I had this awesome feeling of accomplishment. Fast forward about 16 years later to today. On the side of blogging, I’m a school music teacher that teaches general music and saxophone lessons.

Learning an instrument is something that many of us strive to do at some point in our lives. And we have many reasons for doing so. To challenge ourselves. Impress our friends. To strengthen the creative sides of our minds. Or maybe because it just looks cool. Whatever the reason may be, learning an instrument is on a lot of people’s agendas. But then there’s that one thing that stands in the way of everyone’s excitement of learning an instrument. Learning to read music.

Without having gone through a school instrumental or vocal program, or taking private lessons, learning how to read music can be difficult. Especially if you’re an adult. Take one look at the sheet music and start to panic. “This is like reading Greek or Hebrew.” “I’ll never be able to learn this.” “There’s gotta be an easy way to learn this stuff.” Indeed there is! I have found an amazing and easy to learn how to read music.
