For centuries, hair has served as being an essential part for humankind. Mainly women in particular (and some men as well). Hair has become an important part of who they are. Which is why the up-keeping of it is very key. That’s why you see so many buying hair care products, brushing/combing, and doing everything they can not to miss their ever-so-sacred hair appointments. And the ones that I believe that have the worst struggle are those with curly hair. Believe it or not, so much goes into maintaining curly hair. And below, you’ll learn about an incredible thing I found that will make curl maintenance a “Joiful” experience.
What all goes into maintaining curls?
“I don’t get it. It’s just hair. Why should it matter if it’s curly? All you gotta do is comb it and wash it.” That’s true to some degree, but a whole lot more goes into. I should know. I’m married to a woman with curly hair.
So when dealing with curly hair, here are some things to keep in mind when properly taking care of it:
- Choose the right shampoo and conditioner – you want shampoo and conditioner specially designed for curly hair (with natural oils, shea butter, and plant extracts)
- A pre-shampoo treatment – Curly hair tends to lose moisture. To avoid this, conditioning it before washing can help.
- Knowing whether to use hot or cold water? – Hot water will take moisture away from curly hair. Cold water is generally the way to go.
- Trying to avoid over-shampooing – Over-shampooing can rid the hair of its natural oils. Every other day to every three days is recommended.
- Using the right brush and/or comb – Use a wide-tooth comb to get rid of tangles and knots in the hair. For hairbrushes, use one with natural bristles instead of plastic ones. You’ll have a better chance of spreading the hair’s natural oils.
- Applying heat treatments/styling – Use a heat protecting spray before applying a straightening iron to hair.
- Avoiding split ends – In addition to using proper hairbrushes/combs and being careful with heating the hair, getting ends cut every 2-3 months is important for managing split ends.
A “Joiful” convenience for curly hair
So as you saw above, A LOT goes into curl maintenance. Almost too much! Imagine having to buy so many individual products. A shampoo just for curly hair. A conditioner just for curly hair. Wide tooth combs. Heat resistant hairsprays. And much more. “J, there’s gotta be an easier way to maintain curly hair.” Fortunately, there is!
I came across Amazing Haircare Kits from a Hot Company for women with curly hair. A company that will offer that “Joiful” experience in managing your hair. Joiful Bee is the company and the kits are all that!
In the Company’s Signature Kit, you’ll find all the tools one will need for a full curly hair maintenance routine. These include a shampoo brush, a deep conditioning cap (serves the purpose of a hair dryer at a salon), a spray bottle for detangling, a detangling brush, and a micro-fiber turbon towel. All about the lady that started it all
Founder Joi Wade is the lady responsible for these amazing haircare kits and routines. She began her company over a year ago in February of 2020. And now, so many people are talking about her excellent routines and products!
Just like others with natural curly hair, she struggled with curl maintenance for years. No routine, constant hair damage, and lack of moisture. She even struggled with trying to find products that were “just right” for her hair type. Eventually, she dropped all of that and focused on developing a solid routine just for her and people with hair alike.
